The inauguration for Deval Patrick (D-Mass), only the second black governor in US history, was held today. Four previous Mass. governors were there, including the former Dem. Presidential candidate Michael Dukakis and three former Rep. govs, William Weld, Paul Celluci, and Jane Swift. Whose presence was curiously absent? None other than current Mass. governor, and 2008 hopeful, Mitt Romney. He said he's following some tradition about the outgoing gov. not attending the inauguration of the incoming gov. Hey, Mitt, here's some advice. You can sometimes gain points by breaking with tradition. This was a historic event for your state and the country, and your response is that tradition kept you from attending? Doesn't sound Presidential to me.
